About
Nadine Kooiker
Nadine Kooiker is a Dutch visual artist who creates abstract narratives that bridge the gap between nature’s raw essence and human emotion.
Her artistic voice has been shaped by a journey across continents, from the landscapes of Iceland to Australia, through the terrains of Switzerland and South Africa, before returning through her roots in the Netherlands.
Each of Nadine’s paintings emerges as a complex tapestry of memory and observation, where multiple layers of media interweave to create rich, tactile surfaces. Her technique involves a sophisticated layering process that mirrors the complexity found in natural environments. Like geological strata or the rings of ancient trees, each layer tells its own story while contributing to a greater narrative.
Nadine’s use of colour is deliberate, as she employs bold, aquarel-like hues that dance across her canvases with both intention and spontaneous energy.
She invites her viewers to get lost in the layers and get carried away in whichever narrative they take.
